Has anybody had any experience eviciting illegal aliens in tenant friendly Brooklyn NY. I have been to court 4 times, 6 months have gone by since I gave notice and the judges keep adjourning for another 30 days. I am fed up and just realized that the tenants are illegal aliens. Does this change anything. I know I can report them to immigration but that doesn't mean that they actually do anything about it. Any suggestions?

I don't know, I am a landlord in ohio. With that said, my advice call imigaration tomorrow might get them out sooner than courts.. Might not...

Face it laws are made by people not by logic and "fair play".

Why are you trying to evict them though? Non payment of rent? High water bills/as electric that you have to pay? Un authorized occupancy?  Maybe talk to them and try to negotiate uping ther rent? Granted isn't legal, but t hen law over looks illegal immigrants and many other aspects.

Also tell the imigrants you have an obligation to report them, but kick in an open ended "but" and give them a chance to fill in the blank.

up to you do what you want, but there is also the idea can they file a court case with a prosecutor and 6 months down the road be there to testify if you change the locks and throw their crap on the street?

Just ideas and perspectives.. Again do what you want, be human, but also think of your bottom exon, athur & anderson,  enron, and so forth.. I figure it's time for the middle class to screw the law just like the rich..course we don't have the money to fight  a great fight, but what the hell some times the odds might be with you.
