My husband and I bought our trailer in 2008 we have never been late with the lot rent. He passed away in February and I've been having trouble making ends meet. My question is can they take my trailer if I'm late on my lot rent.

You own the trailer but rent the lot, correct?  If you own the trailer, they cannot simply take the trailer because you miss lot payments.  They can, however, evict you from the lot.  Unlike an eviction from a house where your stuff gets put to the curb, a mobile home eviction is much more complicated ... and expensive.  Being forced to move your mobile home off their lot and to a new lot will cost thousands.  Moving costs, multiple inspections at the new lot (foundation, strapping, electric, plumbing, sewer, etc. depending on your area and the laws there).  If you don't move the home as ordered by the court, in some areas, the owner or court can move the home and hold it until you pay the fees.  I strongly suggest you check the laws of mobile home evictions in your area before this happens.
