I live in Belfast. I signed a one month contract from Nov 12th to Dec 12 th 2012. I asked to sign another monthly contract, the landlord never gave it to me. So the initial contract was automatically renewed for another month. I gave a 2 days notice before Jan 12th 2013 and I moved out. The landlord won't give me my deposit back because as he says I should have given him a one month notice. On the contract it says that I should give a one month notice if I want to end the agreement earlier, which was not my case. There is a part which says "full notice must be given (if on a monthly contract) to receive full deposit return in full", but that doesn't specify the period. Did I give a late notice ? If so, is there still any chance that I have rights to get my deposit back ?
