I have been managing a 121 apt communiy for 6 yrs and enjoy my job.  And dont get me wrong, I adore the youngsters in my community.  However the property has very strong rules about bike riding, skating, ball playing, playing in the drive ways, etc. And supervision of young ones is neeed in all common areas.  This is mainly for safety reasons. We have no play area but there is a HUGE park within a four minute walk.  Im not wanting to see a car to accidently hit an unsupervised young one.  The parents just dont care.....any advice?  Have tried many ways,,

What have you tried?  How about:  Advertised the park?  Have a community picnic there to show just how close it is?  Drawn attention to the issue with fundraisers, benefits, or vigils for young victims of accidents?  Sent letters to tenants after local incidents stating you've noticed children unattended and worried about their safety?  Or could you fence a small common area to make a play place?
