I live in Philadelphia and unbeknownst to me my landlord was not paying the mortgage nor did he have a license to rent. Now my elderly mother, my daughter and myself are facing homelessness. I have been living in the house for 8 years and the bank has not even offered to sell it to me. I have been looking for a place for us to live but housing in Philadelphia is not affordable for the middle class. It is the city's fault because they allow these things to happen. Landlords should show proof of a license and L&I needs to inspect rental properties before a tenant complains. There also needs to be a cap on the amount of rent landlords are asking for. Especially when it has not been updated and utilities are not included. Asking for three months in today's economy is a bit much and needs to change. Protecting tenants foreclosure act is no longer in place. Looking to gather a group of people to come together and fight for tenant rights due to foreclosures. Please let me know if interested.

capping amount of rents, will only lead to less rentals. I am a LL and the government already tells me to do to much.
what do you think the government should do to renters that do not pay the rent
what is good for one should be good for the other
